Step 1. Remove the
spectacle holder / light assembly, the two Christmas tree
studs in the centre of the hoodlining and if required, remove
the ceiling lamp.
Step 2. Hold the console
in position to check the fit. Make sure you have received
the correct console, in good order, before cutting any holes
in the console.
Step 3. If the console
has a speaker grill fitted, remove this grill to allow access
to the front mounting screws.
Step 4. Fit your radio(s) and accessories
into the console – see the “instructions on installing
a radio into a console” and the “radio fitting
kit” supplied with the console.
Step 5. Install the
wiring and aerial lead(s) before fitting the console. Be sure
to leave enough spare wire to reach down the seat. This will
make it easier to connect your wiring to the radio(s) before
fitting the console. The excess wire can be coiled up inside
the console. Make sure the wiring looms for the genuine spectacle
holder / light assembly and the ceiling lamp are long enough
to reach the mounting position in the console. If you are
cutting and extending the genuine wiring loom, disconnect
the battery and cut each wire individually.
Step 6. Place the
console on the seat. Connect the wiring and check that the
radio(s) and accessories are operational before fitting the
console.
Step 7. There are
two screw rivets provided in the console fitting kit. Remove
the self tapping screws from the black plastic plugs. Fit
the plastic plugs into the holes that were exposed after removing
the Christmas tree studs.
Step 8. Remove two of
the spectacle holder / light assembly bracket screws as indicated
in the photograph.
Step 9. Coil up any
excess wire while lifting the console into position.
Step 10. Hold the console
in position, make sure the console is sitting flush against
the hoodlining.
Step 11. Attach the front
of the console using the two 75mm long screws and the two
washers provided in the fitting kit. (Two snap caps have been
provided to cover the screw heads if the console has the hole
for the spectacle holder at the front).
Step 12. Attach the back
of the console using the two self tapping screws. Cover the
heads of these screws with the snap caps provided.
WARNING
If the screw rivets are not fitted correctly, the back
of the console will drop down. It is important to make
sure the black plastic plugs are pressed firmly against
the steel turret support when tightening the screws.
If the screws are tightened with the plug wings sitting
below the steel support, in time the screw rivets will
work loose. After fitting the console, pull the back
of the console downwards to confirm these screw rivets
have been fitted correctly. |
Step 13. Fit the spectacle
holder / light assembly to the console using the self tapping
screw and washer provided in the fitting kit.
Step 14. If the console
had a speaker grill fitted, re-fit this grill to the front
of the console
FITTING INSTRUCTIONS (For vehicles
with the Bluetooth microphone and the genuine map lights):
Introduction:
This centre roof console is mounted without
drilling any holes in the vehicle. To mount the front of the
console, we utilise two of the original mounting points for
the genuine map light bracket. The back of the console is
held in place by utilising two of the hoodlining Christmas
tree stud holes. The genuine map lights and the Bluetooth
microphone housing can be re-mounted into the pre-cut holes
in the console. All wiring can be installed without drilling
any holes or cutting the trim.
Step 1. Remove the map lights,
the Bluetooth microphone housing and the two Christmas tree
studs in the centre of the hoodlining.
