Instructions: This glove box has been
designed to fit a GU Patrol without a passenger's side air bag. The GU has a removable
panel attached to the dashboard directly above the genuine glove box. This panel
is converted into a glovebox door for the after market glove box. A hole must
be cut in the dashboard behind the panel to allow access to the aftermarket glove
box. STEP
1. Remove the genuine glove box then remove the six screws that hold the dashboard
panel in place. STEP
2. Using the template supplied, mark out the
area behind the dashboard panel that must be cut out. STEP
3. Using a hacksaw blade or similar, cut a section
out of the plastic dashboard, cutting on the lines marked out in step 2. Clean
up any rough edges with a steel file. STEP
4. There is now a steel bracketexposed below
the new hole in the dashboard. As shown in the photograph, attach this steel bracket
onto the plastic dashboard using the two large pop rivets supplied in the fitting
kit.

STEP

of self adhesive velcro tape.As shown in the photograph, attach this tape around
the edges of the hole to obtain a neat finish. STEP

of the washers supplied in the fitting kit, attach the piano hinge onto the base
of the dashboard panel. The photographs show where to fit the hinge - note the
position of the hinge knuckle.

the top of three of the plastic lugs inside the dashboard panel.
STEP

The plywood base sits underneath the steel tube inside the dashboard. STEP

tube in line with the two holes in the base of the glove box insert. Attach the
glove box insert to the steel tube using two of the 25mm screws and the two large
washers, supplied in the fitting kit. STEP

position. Do not remove the foam rubber strip that is fitted around the outside
edge of this panel. The rubber strip is used to hold the panel in the closed position. STEP

flush against the dashboard. Make sure the dashboard panel is sitting square and
flush to the dashboard. Drill seven ?" dia holes into the dashboard in line
with the holes in the piano hinge. STEP

the seven longest pop rivets, seven snap caps, and fourteen washers supplied in
the fitting kit. For each pop rivet, place one washer inside the snap cap and
one washer inside the dashboard.
 N.B.
Some customers prefer to leave the snap caps off leaving the head of the pop rivet
exposed. From a seated position, the piano hinge and rivet heads are not visible,
however the snap caps are visible.
