The full facia panel fits neatly to the roof and provides a strong support. This console has a plywood frame, steel mounting brackets and a padded vinyl finish. The facia layout is optional.

MICROPHONE CURLY CORD RETAINER

A piece of "one wrap" hook and loop tape is supplied with each roof console (one retainer for each radio) to prevent your microphone curly cord from dangling and blocking your view. Simply screw this retainer onto the console in a suitable position between the radio and the microphone clip, then wrap the tape around the curly cord. If you need the full length of the curly cord, the "one wrap" tape is easy to release and re-attach.

Fitting Instructions:

This console can be fitted to the vehicle without drilling any holes, by utilising the rear vision mirror and the grab handle mounting screws.
In some cases, the two rear vision mirror mounting screws were overtightened when the vehicle was manufactured. If it is difficult to remove these screws with a screwdriver we suggest you remove them by gripping the outside of the screw head with a pair of side cutters.
The captive nuts for the rear vision mirror were located in two different positions, depending on the year model of the Troopcarrier. The mounting bracket on the front of the console has four holes to accommodate both positions for these captive nuts.

PLEASE NOTE: If you are installing a large number of radios or heavy equipment onto your shelf, we recommend that you fit the two additional self tapping screws provided in the "console fitting kit". Each of the console's side mounting brackets have a hole that is covered by the vinyl trim. If required, puncture the vinyl covering these holes before fitting the console. After completing step 9 drill two 1/8" diameter holes into the body of the vehicle and fit the two self tapping screws provided.Snap caps have been provided to place over the head of each screw for a neat appearance.

Step 1. Remove the console fitting kit from inside the console.

Step 2. Remove the rear vision mirror by sliding off the plastic mirror base and removing the two threaded screws.

Step 3. Remove the front threaded screw that holds the passenger's side grab handle onto the vehicle

Step 4. Remove the front christmas tree plug that covers the front captive nut for a driver's side grab handle.

Step 5. Install the wiring for the radio(s) or accessories.

Step 6. Attach your radio(s) or accessories to the top of the console - see " Instructions on installing a radio into a console".

Step 7. Place the console in position and secure it by replacing the passenger's side grab handle and by attaching the 6mm x 20mm threaded screw supplied in the "console fitting kit" to the driver's side captive nut.Do not tighten these screws until the front of the console has been secured in position.

Step 8. Lift the front of the console as high as possible until two of the four holes in the mounting bracket line up with the two captive nuts for the rear vision mirror. Hold the front of the console in position by re-attaching the rear vision mirror over the console mounting bracket.

Step 9. Tighten the two screws that hold each side of the console in position. Place a snap cap over the head of the driver's side threaded screw.

Information required when ordering:

1) Are there any modifications to the vehicle that could prevent the console from fitting correctly, (ie a sunroof)? If yes, please email/phone us the complete details. We will contact you if the modifications will cause any problems.

2) Which vinyl colour would you like your roof console upholstered in. Unfortunately a vinyl is not available to match the hood lining. Most of our customers prefer to match the colour of the dashboard which is either chocolate brown, tan or dark grey.

3) Which options or accessories (if any) do you require in the console? Please provide a sketch of the console indicating the type and position of each option or accessory required. We have information on the measurements, etc. for most radios, please tell us the brand and model of your radio(s) and we will contact you if we need any other information.
