| FITTING INSTRUCTIONS:
Introduction. Six holes must be drilled into the vehicle to fit this console. The two front mounting screws for the console are attached to the steel panel that is covered by the spectacle holder / map light assembly. The four rear mounting screws for the console are attached to two of the steel turret supports that are covered by the hood lining. All wiring can be installed without drilling any holes or cutting the trim.
Step 1. Remove the spectacle holder / map light assembly.
Step 2. Remove the speaker grill fitted to the front of the console.
Step 3. Hold the console in position to check the fit. Make sure you have received the correct console, in good order, before cutting any holes in the console. Make sure the console neatly fits the profile of the hood lining and is sitting exactly in the centre of the roof. At the front of the console, measure the distance between each sun visor and the console. At the back of the console, measure from each side of the console to each side of the vehicle. After centering the console, use a pencil to mark the position of the console’s four rear mounting points onto the hood lining.

Step 4. Drill two holes for the front mounting screws while the console is held in position. Use a long series 5/32” dia drill bit to drill the holes into the steel panel inside the hole in the hood lining, in line with the two holes at the front of the console. (see Figure 1)
Step 5. Remove the console out of position, then using a scriber or similar, make four holes in the hood lining in line with the four pencil marks. Before drilling any holes, check that your pencil marks are in line with the centre of each channel by pushing the scriber through the hood lining then moving the point around to feel for the position of each channel. (see Figure 2)

This photo shows the inside of the turret with the hood lining removed. The two arrows indicate the two turret support channels that are utilised to mount the back of the console.
Step 6. The holes for four rear mounting screws must now be drilled. Drill four 1/8” dia holes in line with your pencil marks through the hood lining and through ONE LAYER of steel. Be careful not to push the drill bit through the first layer of steel and onto the turret. (There is a small space between the steel channels and the turret in the places the holes are being drilled).
Step 7. Fit your radio(s) and accessories into the console – see the “instructions on installing a radio into a console” and the “radio fitting kit” supplied with the console.
Step 8. Install the wiring and aerial lead(s) before fitting the console. Be sure to leave enough spare wire to reach down the seat. This will make it easier to connect your wiring to the radio(s) before fitting the console. The excess wire can be coiled up inside the console. The wiring loom for the spectacle holder / map light assembly will need to be extended.
Step 9. Place the console on the seat. Connect the wiring and check that the radio(s) and accessories are operational before installing the console.
Step 10. Coil up any excess wire while lifting the console into position. If you are fitting the spectacle holder / map light assembly into the console, connect the wiring plug. Press the console firmly onto the hood lining.
Step 11. Attach the front of the console to the vehicle using the two 75mm long screws and the two large washers provided in the fitting kit.
Step 12. Attach the rear of the console to the vehicle using the four 30mm long screws and the four washers provided in the fitting kit.
Step 13. Fit the spectacle holder / map light assembly into the console. Position the assembly over the hole on the base of the console. Secure the assembly in position by aligning the four Christmas tree plugs on the assembly with the four holes in the console.
Step 14. Fit the speaker grill back onto the front of the console.
