You are in Products -> Toyota -> Prado 95 Series 7/'96 to 8/'02 -> Cargo Storage Drawers

The following information is specifically for the Toyota Prado. See Storage Drawers for Cargo Areas for detailed information. See features, prices, optional extras, and how our drawers are constructed so that they are stronger and lighter.

Why buy our drawers?

Above is an example of a single drawer unit which allows for the use of one third row passenger's seat. Single drawer units are available for the driver's side or the passenger's side. Another popular scenario is to fit a single drawer unit on one side and fit a fridge slide on the cargo floor next to the single drawer unit.
The options of a built in fridge slide, drawer partitions and "lift off" table are available for a single drawer unit.

Points of Interest:

  • Our storage drawers have been designed to be as strong and as light as possible. This is achieved by constructing the drawers from marine bonded plywood then re-enforcing any areas that are highly stressed with steel components. Some parts are glued screwed and braced, other parts are riveted or bolted together. Click here for more information on the construction.
  • Designed individually to suit the Prado, neatly following the contours of the vehicle. Our drawers are designed to utilise all the space available.
  • If required, a Milford cargo barrier can be fitted in front of this system.
  • Fits the vehicle without drilling any holes by utilising six seat mount captive nuts in the cargo area.

Full drawer system (two drawers "side by side") $2220 + options, half drawer system (one drawer) $1110 + options. The internal dimensions for each drawer are: 815mm(L) 380mm(W) 198mm (H) (These measurements are for our standard size drawer system. The height of each drawer can be changed to suit the customer)

FITTING INSTRUCTIONS:

Step 1. Remove the passenger seats in the cargo area. Cut the cargo carpet to allow access to the threaded screws that hold the seat mounts to the vehicle. Remove the four seat mounts on the cargo floor, the child restraint fitting and the seat bolts (see sketch). The four tie down assemblies can remain in position. Some Prados have two blocks of styrene foam fitted between `the carpet and the underfelt next to the child restraint fitting. These two blocks must be removed before fitting the drawer system.

Step 2. Six of the eight 'seat mount' captive nuts will be utilised to mount the drawer system. Replace the threaded screws into the remaining three captive nuts to seal off the cargo floor (see sketch).

Step 3. After removing the cargo seats there are two threaded studs exposed, one on each side of the vehicle. Two round plywood spacers have been provided in the "fitting kit". Place these spacers over the two studs.

Step 4. The top of this drawer system (the false floor) is in two sections. Unscrew each of these sections and remove them from the drawer units. If the drawer system has a built in fridge slide, only remove half of the false floor - ie remove the false floor on the opposite side to the fridge slide.

Step 5. Place the drawer units in the vehicle without the false floor and the side fillers attached. Align the mounting holes in the drawer units with the six captive nuts.

Step 6. Join the two drawer units together using the six 35mm x 6mm threaded screws, nuts and washers provided in the "fitting kit" - the holes are drilled (If the drawer system has a built in fridge slide there are only five threaded screws. Three 30mm x 6mm and two 35mm x 6mm).

Step 7. Fix the drawer unit into position using the genuine threaded screws and washers. We have supplied six additional washers. They should be placed under the captive washers on the threaded screws. Do not over-tighten these threaded screws.

Step 8. Attach the two side fillers using the four black screws provided in the fitting kit.

Step 9. Place the false floor tops in position then screw them back onto the drawer units.
