Car Console Supplies Pty Ltd began trading in 1975. Our product range diversified so in 1990 we began trading under the name "Department of the Interior".

We are specialists in the design and manufacture of:

For cars, utilities ,vans, trucks and 4wd's. Our consoles are custom made for each individual model vehicle. We have thirteen console design categories (see console design descriptions) and templates available to manufacture over eight hundred different consoles. We also sell C.B. radios, UHF radios, map lights, speakers, and all the other accessories that can be fitted into a console.

	Features for our consoles include:

		- Solid construction - made from steel and plywood - no plastic.

		- Upholstered in a padded vinyl or velour finish to match the vehicle's interior.
		- Custom built to suit your requirements.
		- All radio holes, storage openings etc cut to suit your requirements.
		- Neatly fit the contours of your vehicle - most are fitted without drilling any holes.
		- All overhead consoles have been designed for maximun headroom.

We manufacture our consoles in weekly batches and our cargo storage drawers in fortnightly batches. If we receive an order by Monday 5.30pm Sydney time, your console will be dispatched on the following Friday or your cargo drawers on the Friday week. The dispatch date can be affected by public holidays and the Christmas to new year break.
