Seat Mounted Consoles We would like to introduce our latest concept in vehicle storage. We have designed, patented and manufactured a new product we call the "Seat Storage" console. This console is very popular with company representatives, truck drivers and business persons who require a vehicle office organiser. It is also popular with holiday travellers and families for storing books, pens, childrens games, drinks etc. The "Seat Storage" console is a storage compartment combined with a multi purpose lid. The lid remains horizontal when open or closed and makes an ideal platform to mount a laptop computer (sometimes known as a notebook computer or think pad).

The "Seat Storage" console has a universal contoured shape that will sit neatly onto most vehicle seats. The console has a tongue protruding from the base at the back. This tongue slides between the seat base and the seat backrest to locate the console in the correct position and to help prevent the console from sliding off the seat. The console also has a concave shape on the front to accept the vehicle's seat belt. When the tongue is in position, the seat belt placed into this concave shape and the seat buckle is connected, the console is held firmly in position. This console can be quickly and easily removed from the vehicle by disconnecting the seat belt that holds it in place. The console can be transferred from one seat to another within the vehicle, from vehicle to vehicle or from vehicle to office, etc. Most drivers prefer the"Seat Storage" console mounted on the front passenger's seat. For vehicles with two bucket seats and a front passenger, this console can be mounted in the centre of the back seat for easy access. When mounted in the centre of the back seat, the lid can be opened to sit between the two front seats. In this position, items sitting on the lid can be accessed by all the occupants of the vehicle. The "Seat Storage" console will seperate children on the back seat and they can use the console as a place to keep pencils, paper, books or games etc.

The lid is an important feature of the "Seat Storage" console. The lid is constructed from a vinyl covered soft foam, for passenger safety. The top of the lid is recessed to form a tray. In the base of this tray are four individual features: A coin rack; two drink can holders that may also be used to hold a small bottle a cup or a "Tetra Pak"; one large drink bottle holder which can also be used to hold a coffee mug with a handle or a milk carton. All the holders are 45mm deep to prevent the bottle, cup or can from tipping over while you are driving. If a spill does occur, it will be contained within the tray area.

The lids tray has been designed to house a laptop computer. If required, the laptop can be attached to the lid with velcro tape. The lid is mounted onto the console with our unique "sliding arm mechanism" that allows the lid to remain horizontal when open. There is a recessed handle at the front of the lid and at the back of the lid, to make it easier to open and close the lid. The storage compartment can be partitioned off to provide a more useful area when storing papers, books, folders, etc. or for specialised equipment. The storage area can also be utilised for housing a small computer printer with provision to feed and retrieve the paper, or for mounting a car radio, two way radio, citizen band radio, sound system, mobile telephone, medical kit, etc. On the base of the console is a removable tapered panel. This panel allows the shape of the console to be adjusted to fit the contours of almost any seat. Each "Seat Storage" console comes complete with two Velcro straps attached to the front of the console to secure a plastic shopping bag. This plastic bag will hang in front of the seat and can be used to store your rubbish. The "Seat Storage" console is a high quality handcrafted product that is built to last a lifetime. It is constructed from a strong lightweight plywood frame. This plywood frame is upholstered with a padded vinyl finish to match the vehicles interior trim in dark grey, black, chocolate brown or fawn.
