Across Windscreen Shelf Roof Console

This console mounts across the vehicle above the windscreen. This design of console is only available for vehicles with vertical or near vertical windscreens, which provide adequate headroom when the console is fitted. The base of this console is the same as the full facia design. It does not have a facia panel that fits up to the roof, but rather a lip that holds stored items in position. This console can collect the red dust, it is not as strong as the full facia design and on rough roads some vibration can occur if heavy radios are fitted. Also, stored items can bounce off the shelf on rough roads. The advantages are, the ease of mounting radios, there is no need to cut holes and radios can be repositioned easily. Also, there are considerable cost savings in comparison to the full facia design because there is no need for radio holes or Storage/Access Opening.
