Our Original Speaker Door Pods are designed to completely transform your LandCruiser’s front doors — improving both the look and sound quality of your cabin. Perfectly engineered to suit standard 6.5" speakers, these pods are 100% handmade in Australia and upholstered in your choice of DeluxeTrim Grey (custom-matched to your original trim) or DeluxeTrim Black for a seamless, factory-quality finish.

FAQs

Why don’t you offer 6x9” speaker pods?
The 70 Series LandCruiser doors are designed for round speakers. Installing oval (6x9”) speakers requires cutting the steel door frame, which we strongly advise against.

We’ve positioned our pods so the speaker magnet aligns perfectly within the existing door cavity — a precise fit only achievable with our recommended 6.5” speakers.

Attempting to fit 6x9” speakers would require:

• Cutting the door frame

• Cleaning metal swarf from the cavity

• Painting exposed steel edges

• Applying additional rust protection

This process is time-consuming, expensive, and unnecessary.

From an audio perspective:

• Oval woofers distort unevenly, reducing clarity at high volumes.

• Round component speakers offer superior staging and imaging.

• 6x9s can cause interference between the woofer and tweeter, reducing midrange clarity.

• Check your stereo’s power output — ensure it can handle the new speaker load.

• Optimise the 4” dashboard speakers — many customers repurpose them for UHF radio use to improve clarity.

• Run speaker cables first for an easier installation.

• Use plastic trim tools, not metal, to avoid damaging clips.

• Install sound deadening inside the outer door skin for better acoustics.

• Apply cavity wax or rust-preventative spray before reinstalling the trims, especially for vehicles used in wet or off-road conditions.

Sound Deadening Tips

• Enhance Audio & Reduce Noise: Applying sound deadening inside the outer steel door skin dampens vibrations and reduces road noise.

• Prepare the Surface: Clean with wax and grease remover for proper adhesion.

• Cut into Strips: Makes installation easier through smaller access holes.

• Maximise Coverage: Cover as much of the steel surface as possible for the best acoustic performance.
