Read through the entire instruction guide before installing your Rear Seat Delete. Kindly note, not all photos have written instructions.

Open the rear storage compartment of the vehicle to access the mounting latches.

Push both latches inward to release the container.

Use your hands to gently pull up the trim.

Remove both side wings from the vehicle, applying gentle pressure to release the trim clips.

Fold both rear seats down before removal.

* Recommened * Apply a layer of tape before using your trim removal tool to create a protective barrier.

Remove factory tool kit and set aside

Using a trim tool, lift the silver tie-down point upright, then pry off the black bolt cover to expose the mounting bolt for the tie-down.

Remove both factory tie-downs and set them aside for reinstallation on the new platform.

Once removed, the trim clip may stay seated , use trim tool to remove

Remove rear trim panel to expose factory mounting bolts

Inside the vehicle, remove the front trim panels of the third-row seats to expose the mounting bolts.

Using a 14mm Socket to remove all 8 bolts that secure the seat to the vehicle.

Keep factory bolts aside as you will need these to install the sub frame to the vehicle.

Remove clips on the wiring harness.

Using Needle Nose Pliers, disengage the latch on the sensor

Once these steps have been completed you should be able to remove the third row of seats.

Remove the third row of seats

Locate the trim clips and remove the top underlay cover to uncover the battery beneath.

Remove the hard felt cover from the cargo area to expose the battery underneath.

Position the subframe into the vehicle and align the brackets with the factory mounting holes.

Hand tighten all bolts leaving some play in the frame. These will be tightened once platform is in vehicle.

Once secured, use the carpet insert provided to cover the area between the boot latch and subframe.

Tuck the carpet under the rear side panel to secure

Once covered, reattach the factory boot lip trim to the vehicle to secure the carpet in place.

Using the Loctite provided, apply a small amount to the drivers side only bolt for the tie-down mount.

Before fitting the platform, secure the tie-down mount to the platform panels by placing the bolt and washer on the top side, with the threaded washer underneath as shown in the picture.

Now, place the hatch subframe into the space between the platform subframe and the boot latch.

Align the platform panels on top of the subframe with the middle raised and lower them together, ensuring they fit securely.

Once in place, use the 14 platform bolts to secure the platform to the subframe.

Diagram for the passenger side tie down, Do not use loctite on this tie down.

Lift back the carpet and tighten all four frame bolts to the vehicle.

Insert the hatch lid into position,
*Note* this may be a tight fit until the carpet has seated over time.

Tighten the four rear frame bolts to the vehicle.

Install the grille to complete the installation.

"If a customer removes the third-row seats out of the 7-seat LandCruiser Prado variant, the warranty will remain valid for all components of the vehicle besides the third-row components," said a Toyota Australia spokesperson (via CarExpert).

  • No Warranty Voids: Toyota warranties typically remain valid unless the modification directly contributes to a defect. For example, this platform won’t affect claims related to unrelated components, like paint or the instrument cluster.

Registration Updates by State

For NSW and other Australian states, it’s recommended to update your registration to reflect the seating capacity change. Below is a guide for each state:

NSW: Contact Transport for NSW to update your registration as advised.

VIC: Notify VicRoads about the seating capacity change.

QLD: Update your registration with the Department of Transport & Main Roads (TMR).

SA: Report any seating modifications to the Department for Infrastructure & Transport.

WA: Notify the Department of Transport (DoT) about seating changes.

TAS: Reflect seating capacity updates with the Department of State Growth.

ACT: Notify Access Canberra of any modifications.

NT: Update your registration with the Department of Infrastructure, Planning & Logistics (DIPL).
