When I bought my Toyota Yaris GR Rallye I had spirited driving in mind. I drove the car at track days and quickly realised the OEM seats did not sufficiently hold me to maintain a good driving position.
I started to research and drove around every available business that sold seats to decide what was best for my needs. It wasn’t just about holding on the track, it also had to be comfortable on a long weekend drive with my partner and needed to be easy to get in and out of through the day.
After much consideration, my decision was made to buy the Recaro “Pole Position” model. It ticked every box and is the seat that Toyota Gazoo Racing in Japan use on their special GRMN edition car.
I have now done many track days recently and I can not fault this seat. The genuine Recaro base plate system and adjustable runner system works perfectly. I could not be happier.

After running aftermarket JDM fixed backs then S15 seats in my S14 for years, I decided it was time for a change.
My 14 is mostly used for weekend driving and track events (drifting) so I needed something that holds me in the corners but was still comfortable for the drive home.
Working at Ergodrive has given me a much deeper understanding of RECARO seats not just their reputation, but the benefits in ergonomics, comfort, and build quality.
I bit the bullet and put a set into my own car, and the difference was instant. The driving position is spot-on, the bolstering keeps me planted in the seat round corners but i still have the luxury of weekend comfort.
